For Thanksgiving 🍂🦃, an American holiday celebrated every fourth Thursday in November, we caught up with Paul, a student in the MeSN section at ESIX Normandie, who went on mobility to the United States 🇺🇸. He tells us how his childhood dream came true.

I wanted to leave Europe to see what was happening elsewhere, and studying abroad seemed like a great experience to try ✈️🌎. The United States was a bit of a childhood dream of mine, so I took a chance and applied. And... I was accepted 🎉!

That's when I realised that I was going to land in the land of 'Friends' 📺, of New York 🗽, of that country that everyone knows. I went there with excitement and apprehension. I admit that, at first, I struggled to realise how lucky I was, and I was a bit freaked out by the idea of spending six months so far from home, on the other side of the ocean, to study in a country even bigger than Europe.

But once I arrived on campus, the euphoria took over. From the very first hour, I knew it was all worth it. All the stress, all the anxiety, all the stepping out of my comfort zone, it all paid off.

This semester abroad was the best experience of my life. If you get the chance, go for it! 🏃🧳 It's a unique opportunity to discover yourself and others, no matter what country you go to.

Adventure is waiting for you, so don't hesitate!
